Meet Pierce Hufham

Pierce Hufham is an award-winning cinematographer, photographer, and filmmaker based in Knoxville, Tennessee. With a photographer’s eye and a passion for visual storytelling, he creates cinematic imagery that captures authentic emotion and brings every story to life.

Over the course of his career, Pierce has served as cinematographer on eight short films and has contributed to a diverse range of commercial, narrative, documentary, and creative productions. His portfolio includes narrative-driven advertisements for University of Tennessee student organizations, music videos for emerging artists, and documentary-style films supporting Ph.D. candidate research and grant proposals. In addition to cinematography, he works professionally as a grip, camera operator, cinema editor, and colorist, bringing technical precision and a cohesive visual style to every stage of production.

His work has earned multiple honors, including three awards at the Knoxville Handheld Film Festival. His photography has also been featured in the University of Tennessee’s Annual Ewing Gallery Student Art Competition and in The Camera Has Its Shyness exhibition at PhotoLounge in Philadelphia.

Today, Pierce freelances throughout East Tennessee and the Southeast, collaborating on commercial, narrative, documentary, and independent film productions. Whether behind the camera, shaping light as a grip, crafting an edit, or refining the final color grade, he is dedicated to creating compelling visual stories that leave a lasting impression.

When he’s not on set, Pierce enjoys exploring with his camera, taking spontaneous road trips to discover overlooked places, forgotten backroads, and small towns. Always searching for unique perspectives and authentic moments, he believes some of the best stories are found where no one else is looking.
